A few minutes of care keeps a bag looking like the day it arrived.
Everyday handling
- Keep it away from sharp edges, keys and anything that can scratch the surface.
- Avoid overloading it. Carrying a bag beyond what it was designed for pulls the seams and
distorts the shape. - Do not leave it in direct sun or next to a radiator for long periods — heat dries and
fades most materials.
Storing it
- Store it lightly stuffed with soft cloth or tissue so it holds its shape.
- Use the dust bag if one was included. Otherwise a clean cotton pillowcase works.
- Do not store it in a sealed plastic bag — materials need to breathe.
- Keep straps from pressing hard against the body of the bag.
Cleaning
Leather and coated surfaces
Wipe with a soft, dry or very slightly damp cloth. Do not use alcohol, acetone, household
cleaners or baby wipes. For deeper marks, use a leather conditioner made for the finish —
test it on an inconspicuous area first.
Fabric and canvas
Brush off dust with a soft brush. Spot-clean with a mild soap solution and a white cloth, then
let it air-dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Lining
Wipe the lining with a dry cloth. If something spills inside, blot it immediately — do not
rub.
Hardware
Wipe metal fittings with a dry cloth to remove hand oils and moisture. Avoid metal polishes;
they can strip the finish.
Rain
If the bag gets wet, blot it with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally at room temperature.
Never use a hairdryer or place it on a radiator.
